Workplace Health and Safety Policy

The Workplace Health and Safety is the company’s first and utmost priority, since it is imperative that all employees, associates, subcontractors work in a safe and healthy ambience. In this respect the Administration is fully committed:

  • To provide safe work conditions and to assure the healthy environment for all its employees, as well as for all persons that may be affected by the company’s activities,
  • To take all necessary safety measures for the prevention of incidents and the minimization of work-related risks,
  • To provide to its personnel all necessary personal protection equipment (PPE), as well
    as the required information and trainings for performing the work incident-free,
  • To comply with the relevant health and safety regulations and legislation,
  • To communicate and interact with its personnel and take into account any relevant suggestions that may improve the work conditions.

The personnel are responsible to apply and make use of the provided means and safety equipment as occasionally required, for their own safety, as well as for persons that may be affected by their works (i.e. client, passing-by individuals).
For achieving the above the company has established a total health and safety management system in line with the International Standard ISO 45001, for managing all issues related to workplace health and safety. The Administration provides all required means and resources,
as well as its full support, throughout all stages of the system’s implementation, aiming for the improvement of the company’s performance and for the continuous improvement of the health and safety management system.
This policy has been communicated to the company’s personnel, it is accessible to anyone that may be interested and is annually reviewed.

Environmental Policy

MSKAT CONSTRUCTION S.A. Administration acknowledges that the company’s activities have an impact on the Environment, therefore is committed to:

  • Setup an operation scheme for minimizing the deterioration of the Environment by adopting measures for natural resources savings, prevention of pollution and sustainable usage of the Environment’s resources,
  • Fully comply with the applicable environmental regulations and legislation. For achieving the above the company has established a total environmental management system in line with the International Standard ISO 14001, for managing all issues related to the Environment.

The Administration provides all required means and resources, as well as its full support, throughout all stages of the system’s implementation, aiming for the improvement of the company’s environmental performance and for the continuous improvement of the environmental management system.
The Administration assures that all members of the company’s personnel are acquainted with the environmental management system and have received the relevant training, so that they may comprehend the environmental aspect of each activity, while being aware of the impact of such activity on the Environment.
The Administration manages its relations with suppliers and subcontractors in such a manner, to promote mutual benefits that will contribute to the protection of the Environment.
The Administration communicates to its personnel its stance towards the Environment and expects by them to participate in the common effort for the continuous improvement of the company’s performance, by applying the current policy. The Administration is annually reviewing the Environmental Policy to ascertain its suitability and effectiveness.

Quality Policy

MSKAT CONSTRUCTION S.A. is a construction company and is active in the construction and construction management of buildings and other technical projects, of the public and private sector.
The company Administration’s objectives are the following:

  • To assure and achieve high construction quality standards for the projects that the company undertakes, as per its contractual obligations and pursuant to the applicable regulations and legislation,
  • To solidify the company to its clients’ conscience as a high-quality construction company Further to the foregoing the Administration is committed to:
  • Comply with the desire, requests and expectations of its clients,
  • Continuously improve the quality of construction, while establishing measurable objective quality targets and monitoring the company’s performance,
  • Aim for sustainable growth identifying and acknowledging the potential risks and opportunities that are presented throughout the company’s operation,
  • Allocate all required resources (human, plant & material) and setup such work environment to achieve the company’s targets,
  • The optimization of the company’s operation cost,
  • Provide its employees the opportunity for training and continuous professional development, to promote professionalism, knowledge and responsibility, while focusing on the enhancement of their skills.

In order to achieve the above the company has established a total quality management system that complies with the International Standard ISO 9001, for the application of methods for controlling and monitoring the quality throughout all operations of the company’s scope.
The company’s Administration will annually review the Quality Policy to ascertain its suitability and effectiveness.

Business Continuity Policy

MSKAT CONSTRUCTION S.A., as a modern and future-focused company, recognizes the need to ensure its smooth and uninterrupted operation for the benefit of its customers, partners, and other stakeholders, and has implemented a Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) in accordance with the international standard for business continuity ISO 22301.
MSKAT CONSTRUCTION S.A. operates in the following sectors:

  • Preparation of electromechanical and energy studies and inspections,
  • Preparation of environmental studies,
  • Preparation of architectural and structural studies and finally,
  • Provision of technical consulting services in these specialties,
  • Supervision of the construction of electromechanical projects.

MSKAT CONSTRUCTION S.A. sets strategic and tactical business continuity objectives, has the necessary resources to achieve them, and regularly monitors and evaluates them to ensure their continuous suitability.
The Company takes into account the applicable standards, legislation, regulations, as well as their implementation guidelines in all its activities, commits to their satisfaction, to compliance with the ISO 22301 standard, and to the continuous improvement of the Business Continuity Management System, and has the necessary resources for this purpose.
This policy is reviewed on a regular basis, as well as in cases of significant changes, in order to ensure its continuous validity and application.

Information Security Policy

The Management of MSKAT CONSTRUCTION S.A. recognizes the necessity of safeguarding the informational assets that are in its possession or under its control, as the majority of the information is now in electronic form.
The Management of the company is committed to the following regarding Information Security:
• to continuously support the implementation of information management methods to ensure their confidentiality, availability, and integrity,
• to fully comply with the applicable legislation governing information security,
• to provide all necessary resources, means, and organizational structure for the continuous improvement of the company’s performance in all areas affecting information security.
For the success of the above, the company:

  • implements a Total Management System in accordance with the requirements of the ISO 27001 standard, for the management of all issues related to information security
  • has identified and assessed all potential risks to the information system and has established corresponding purposes and objectives for monitoring and continuously improving its performance regarding information security
  • has taken all appropriate measures to protect the information system and has developed an incident response plan for system breaches
  • ensures that all personnel and partners of the company who have access to the company’s information infrastructure are fully aware of the risks threatening the information system and take all the prescribed preventive protection measures.

The company’s Management assumes responsibility for evaluating the results in achieving the purposes and objectives regarding information security and for reviewing this Policy for its continuous effectiveness and suitability.

Anti-Bribery Policy

The Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS) of MSKAT CONSTRUCTION S.A. is implemented and maintained to the extent that the company’s Management is committed to:

  • the prohibition of any form of bribery or suspicion of bribery and zero tolerance towards such phenomena
  • its compliance with the legislative and other applicable compliance requirements and obligations that govern it (including the satisfaction of the requirements of the ISO 37001 standard),
  • the achievement of anti-bribery objectives,
  • encouraging the staff to raise concerns, in good faith, and report any case of suspicion, attempt, or manifestation of bribery, or non-compliance without fear of retaliation, to the appropriate company personnel,
  • the support of the operation and independence of the Anti-Bribery Compliance Officer (ABCO),
  • the imposition of sanctions in case of non-compliance with this policy,
  • the provision of the necessary resources and appropriate means for the training, awareness, and involvement of staff in compliance matters against bribery, aiming at the continuous improvement of the Compliance Management System (CMS).

The Compliance Management System (CMS) extends to all stakeholders involved in the company’s operations, including all types of external partners/suppliers.

In this context, the Company’s Management is committed to supporting the implementation, control, and maintenance of the Compliance Management System (CMS), which will be periodically reviewed, revised, and improved as necessary, in order to continuously ensure its regulatory compliance with both the current legislative framework and this policy.

The ultimate goal of the company’s Management is to carry out all its operations and activities with full regulatory compliance and with zero tolerance for any instances of non-compliance regarding bribery.

Compliance with the Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS) is mandatory for all those involved in the company’s processes and activities.

The company’s Management assumes responsibility for evaluating the results in achieving its purposes and objectives regarding the fight against bribery and for conducting reviews of this Policy regarding its continuous effectiveness and suitability.

Road Safety Policy

A strategic pillar of the operation of MSKAT CONSTRUCTION S.A. is the safeguarding of human life. The company’s management is committed to fully complying with legal requirements and the regulatory provisions required on a case-by-case basis, providing services that, on the one hand, fully satisfy the needs of its customers, and on the other hand, ensure the reduction and/or elimination of deaths and injuries resulting from road accidents that the company is in a position to influence. The absolute goal and priority of MSKAT Technical S.A. is to achieve zero road accidents (avoiding death or serious injury from a road accident). For this purpose, it implements and adheres to the Road Safety Management System in compliance with the international standard ISO 39001 and ensures the continuous monitoring and improvement of its effectiveness.
For this purpose, the present Road Safety Policy is drafted, along with the corresponding purposes and objectives as follows:

  • No traffic accidents,
  • No environmental impact as a consequence of an incident related to road safety,
  • Well-trained and sensitized personnel,
  • Readiness for incident management.

The above objectives are achieved through:

  • Full compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements for Road Safety
  • The identification and allocation of the necessary resources to ensure the effective planning of road safety
  • The selection of appropriate personnel and the definition of their responsibilities
  • The continuous updating, training, and awareness of staff and partners/suppliers for the ongoing improvement of the company’s performance in road safety matters,
  • The regular review of road safety threats/opportunities and programs in the context of the continuous improvement of the Road Safety Management System being implemented,
  • The regular monitoring of relevant performance indicators,
  • The existence of a specific traffic incident management plan and the conduct of readiness exercises,
  • The implementation of corrective and preventive actions to ensure maximum effectiveness and the best possible level of road safety, the confirmation of their execution, and the evaluation of their results,
  • The effort of continuous improvement of the Road Safety Management System with the aim of serving the corporate purpose and strategic axis.

This policy is absolutely binding for every employee at all levels of the organizational structure, can be communicated to any interested party, and is reviewed on a regular basis, as well as in cases of significant changes, in order to ensure its continuous validity and implementation.

Energy Policy

The Management of MSKAT CONSTRUCTION S.A., taking into account the economic and environmental benefits arising from the improvement of energy performance, has decided to adopt best energy management practices by implementing an Energy Management System in accordance with the International Standard ISO 50001, with the aim of continuously improving its energy performance.
Specifically, the Company’s Management is committed to:

  • to comply with the applicable legislation, relevant requirements, and the overall energy policy of the Company,
  • for providing the necessary information and resources to achieve the objectives and energy goals
  • for the support of the procurement of energy-efficient products and services
  • for supporting energy planning with the aim of improving energy performance
  • to train, inform, raise awareness, and encourage staff to participate in improving the company’s energy performance, through the improvement of the energy performance of their area of responsibility,
  • to identify, evaluate, and control the threats to energy goals, as well as to leverage opportunities for improving energy performance,
  • to aim at maximizing energy performance and minimizing energy consumption in a safe manner for its personnel and offices, by applying best practices in energy and natural resource conservation,
  • to establish, document, and review energy objectives as well as to evaluate the company’s energy performance,
  • to inform the suppliers and subcontractors collaborating with the company about the current Energy Policy and to ensure its compliance,
  • to continuously improve the Energy Management System in order to enhance the overall energy performance of the company,
  • to review the current Energy Policy annually, regarding its suitability and effectiveness.
